Dancing with the Stars goes country!

It was Country Week last night on Dancing with the Stars. each couple performed either a cha cha, rumba, tango, foxtrot or Viennese waltz. Gilles and Peta opened the show with a cha cha that earned him a 27.5 out of 30. Sabrina and Louis danced the rumba and earned the first perfect score of the season. Her dance was about a past relationship she had that didn’t go too well because her boyfriend had a drug addiction. The judges praised her for channeling that emotion to the dance floor. Melissa and Tony received a standing ovation from Len and a total of 29.5, almost a perfect score.

Everyone came close behind, earning scores no lower than 26. The second perfect score of the night was danced by Apollo and Karina. They danced a Viennese waltz with a story about a girl who had cancer. The judges loved it. And of course, Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson. In rehearsals viewers saw that she injured her knee while practicing for the big group dance that was later in the show. Her dance, however, did not show any of that. She and Derek cha cha’d to Kenny Chesney’s hit “She thinks my¬† tractor’s sexy.” The show closed with the big group number, that the entire cast participated in, set to the song “Save a horse, ride a cowboy” by Big & Rich. The results show airs tonight at 8 p.m. on CTV.
